Cowtown Farmers Market, Fort Worth's only local-only producer farmers market, is now open from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays through November at 3821 Southwest Blvd. This is in addition to the 8 a.m. to noon Saturday hours, which are year-round.

This exhibition of forty landmark and lesser-known works by the renowned artist-photographer is drawn from the Carter’s holdings and a private collection.Ansel Adams was the last major artist to subscribe to the romantic tradition of American landscape, an artistic lineage that included Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Cole, William Henry Jackson and Carleton Watkins. He excelled at capturing a glorious American West before tourism and development marked the land. His goal was “to rekindle an appreciation of the marvelous.”

The J. Erik Jonsson Library will host the 2010 Petzapalooza event on July 17th from 11-4. This year’s annual celebration of our beloved pets will feature a variety of children’s and adult programs, booths, and events. Admission is free. Additional information can be obtained by calling 214-670-1606 or visiting the Dallas Public Library website. The program is sponsored by the Business and Technology Division of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library.

Following a full PRCA rodeo catch country music artist Jack Ingram performing songs from his new album Big Dreams & High Hopes at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo on July 17. $15-$60 for rodeo and concert; $25 after 9:30 p.m. for concert-only pass at the door ($20 for students 22 and younger with valid student ID). Enjoy a laid back atmosphere hanging out with artists? The Open Mic Nite at the Roxy (aka Balch Springs Visual and Performing Arts Alliance) is the place for you. Artists, poets, comedians, musicians, and singers are welcome to participate. Just sign up in advance or at the door. Featured performers for July 17 and August 21 are Mr. Justin David Tate, /performance artist and Lee Chavez, guitarist. You can preview their work at www.justindavidtate.com and www.leechavezmusic.com. Open Mic Nite host, Sandra Bellamy Wood, is a vocal artist. Past work includes musical theatre, contemporary Christian and some cabaret.The general public is also welcome to come and experience this ‘give and take’ between artists and light menu of beverages and appetizers to suit any palate.
